The Engineering Leadership Institute's Success Enabling Skills™ Performance Certification System utilizes the curriculum contained in the Engineering Competency Model (ECM). The ECM was originated through a partnership between the US Department of Labor Education and Training Administration and the American Association of Engineering Societies (AAES). The curriculum was selected by the Engineering Leadership Institute based upon the following attributes of the ECM.
Defines essential skill competencies to enter, advance, and succeed in the Engineering industry
Provides a model to identify gaps in skill competencies and performance
Utilizes the Competency Based Education (CBE) model
Provides resources for career exploration and guidance
For a brief explanation of the ECM, watch this video produced by AAES
